With talk of Rulani Mokwena's imminent departure from DStv Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns, agent Mike Makaab has given an update on his client Manqoba Mngqithi.
Mngqithi's contract with Sundowns expired at the end of June and, as things stand, he has not officially signed a new deal. Makaab recently told the Siya crew that a deal has been agreed in principle, but Mngqithi is yet to sign on the dotted line.

With news coming through that head coach Mokwena is heading out, Mngqithi is understood to have overseen training during Sundowns' first day back on Monday. Sundowns are expected to bring in a new coach and the club is looking to bring in a foreigner to take charge of the team.
At this stage, it's unclear if Mngqithi would form part of the technical should the club bring in someone new.
Asked if there is a concern over the future of Mngqithi now that it looks like there could be a new technical team, Makaab insisted that he expects the coach's deal to go over the line.

"Not that I know of. It does not concern me at all. Really, it doesn't. We are well advanced in our discussions and both parties have committed to finding a new deal. Honestly, that's the truth," Makaab said to the Siya crew.
Sundowns are expected to make announcements on the coaching situation at the club, with the possibility of a new man in charge before the start of the new campaign.
