The 4 Premier League Clubs Who Enquired About Foster

Back in January, four Premier League clubs were believed to have shown interest in Burnley forward Lyle Foster. With the striker's club officially relegated from the Premier League, Soccer Laduma spoke to insiders around which of these four clubs could still be in for the Bafana Bafana star.

The likes of Brentford, Newcastle, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest are all understood to have enquired about Foster in January.

This is after the 23-year-old experienced a rich vein of form in which he scored four goals before the turn of the year, showing that he has the capacity to compete – and succeed in the toughest league in the world.

He finished the season on five goals and three assists in 26 games in all competitions.

With Burnley keen to hold onto their man, Foster subsequently put pen to paper on a new deal with the Clarets, though they would suffer relegation heartbreak just five months later, leaving the striker in a complicated situation.

With Foster's former coach Vincent Kompany having already jumped ship, taking up a role at Bayern Munich, more players – including Foster – are expected to follow suit.

But it remains to be seen if any of the clubs could be coming back in for the former Monaco man, who could possibly be available at a cut-price fee given Burnley's relegation to the Championship.

A big factor as to whether Foster moves or not would depend on the upcoming transfer window, and whether clubs lose their big players, in which case Foster would be the ideal replacement for these players.

Insiders have already confirmed that Foster is keen on remaining in the Premier League and at this stage, is unlikely to follow Kompany to Germany – but the next few weeks will be crucial for the forward with regards to his future and where he plays his football next season.
