The story

The Pirates' 19-year-old wonderkid, has had a stellar season with the Soweto giants becoming a key player in the team.

The School of Excellence prodigy has made 37 appearances in all competitions. He's managed four goals and provided six assists.

His performances have placed him as the firm favourite to clinch the PSL Young Player of the Season and Nedbank Cup Most Promising Player accolades.

On Thursday, Mofokeng received his first call-up to the men's national team and was made the cut in Hugo Broos' final 23-man squad to face Nigeria and Zimbabwe for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in June.

The exciting baller, who is linked with a number of European clubs, could make his international debut in either of the two matches.

Mofokeng will hope to impress when Orlando Pirates attempt to defend their crown in Saturday's Nedbank Cup final at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit.

Mofokeng's exploits on the pitch this season have seen him become one of adidas South Africa's more marketable footballers.

He was featured in Focalistic's "Pressure" music video, which combined SA's adidas affiliated musicians with the German sportswear brand's SA athletes.

Mofokeng appeared in the video with Bafana Bafana captain Ronwen Williams and legend Lucas Radebe, among host of local stars in arts and sport.

The youngster was one of the 26 players from different DStv Premiership clubs, who graduated with a qualification from the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS), through the PSL Player Transition Programme.

For his incredible work on the field in his short career so far, Mofokeng received an award from Gauteng Premier, Panyaza Lesufi at the 2024 Premier's Social Cohesion Games Gala Awards Dinner:

Mofokeng has entertained crowds with his silky skills, quickly striking fear in the eyes of defenders. His dance moves without the ball are also elite. Take a look:

The youngster has also been spotted with a sleek, silver VW Polo GTI whip and he still champions local fashion by modelling Johannesburg-based brand, StafSetu's clothing alongside ballers Thabiso Sesane and Mfundo Vilakazi:
