Gareth Southgate has officially named his preliminary 2024 UEFA European Championship squad, with several high-profile players left out.

As the Three Lions prepare to take on Slovenia, Denmark and Serbia in Group C, Southgate has given the public an indication of what his side will look like in Germany next month.
The 53-year-old has selected a preliminary 33-man group for now, with 7 June being the deadline for national teams to submit their final squads.
Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham and Bayern Munich's Harry Kane headline the roster, although Southgate will be sweating on the latter's fitness after he missed Bayern Munich's final Bundesliga match of the season due to a back injury.
Chelsea trio Reece James, Ben Chilwell and Raheem Sterling have not been called up for the tournament, while Manchester United's Marcus Rashford and on-loan winger Jadon Sancho miss out. Kobbie Mainoo, 18, has been selected after impressing on international duty in March.
Premier League Young Player of the Year Cole Palmer has been picked along with Player of the Year Phil Foden, while four Crystal Palace regulars have been given an initial nod in the form of Dean Henderson, Marc Guehi, Adam Wharton and Eberechi Eze.
