Man Utd 'Interested' In New African Star

Manchester United are reportedly looking at bringing in another African star at the end of the season.

Following Andre Onana's arrival at the beginning of the campaign, Manchester United are now reportedly exploring the possibility of signing yet another African star.

According to The Sun, the Red Devils are looking to bring in a left-back, and Reinildo Mandava is among their top candidates for the position.

The 30-year-old is approaching the final year of his contract with Atletico Madrid, and with the 35-cap Mozambique international having fallen out of favour in Diego Simeone's side since returning from a cruciate ligament tear, the possibility of a departure from the Civitas Metropolitano seems likely.

The left-back position has proved troublesome for the Mancunians this season after Tyrell Malacia was ruled out for the whole campaign and with Luke Shaw struggling with persistent injuries.

United are thus looking to fill the position in the most cost-effective manner, and Reinildo appears to be a cheap option for the record Premier League winners.

The same report claims that the former Lille man could be available for as little as £8 million (R184.6 million), but it has also been stated that the English giants will likely face stiff competition from Aston Villa for his signature.

Of the 20 times the Mozambican has been available for the Spanish outfit in LALIGA this season, the defender has been used as a substitute on five occasions while being left entirely on the bench eight times.
