Van Dijk 'Makes Decision' On Liverpool Future After Klopp Exit

Liverpool made the centre-back the most expensive defender ever, at the time, when they used the funds generated from the €135 million (R2.6 billion) sale of Philippe Coutinho to acquire Van Dijk for €85 million (R1.6 billion) from Southampton in January 2018.

Ever since arriving on Merseyside, the 32-year-old and Klopp have helped the club capture every piece of club silverware available, including Premier League title and the UEFA Champions League trophy.

Now, though, the German tactician will be leaving the Reds at the end of the season and with the Netherlands international also approaching the final 12 months of his existing deal at Anfield, question marks remain over his future at the club.

With Feyenoord manager Arne Slot looking set to become Klopp's successor, Van Dijk, who has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich in recent days, has now insisted he intends to be part of his compatriot's rebuild with the six-time European champions.

"There will be a big transition and I am part of that," the 66-cap Dutch international said, as per ESPN.

"I think the club is very much busy with who is going to be the new manager and that is the main focus. Like I said, I am very happy here, I love the club and you can see that as well.

"It's a big part of my life already, and that is all I can say. There will be a lot of changes happening and, I wouldn't say scary is the right word, but it is quite interesting and exciting what will happen now."
