NEW: Arsenal 'Agree' Deal To Sign Top Star

Bayern Munich's Joshua Kimmich has reportedly agreed a deal in principle to join Arsenal.

Arsenal have reportedly agreed a deal to sign a player Pep Guardiola once said was "destined" for greatness after working with him.

As per Spanish outlet Fichajes, the Gunners have reached an agreement in principle with Bayern Munich's Joshua Kimmich.

With the two teams currently in the middle of a UEFA Champions League quarter-final tie, it is reported that the 29-year-old could be preparing to leave the Bavarians.

The abovementioned publication claims the German giants would sell the versatile fullback for €60 million (R1.2 billion) ahead of the expiration of his deal in 2025.

Arsenal are reportedly seeking a long-term replacement for ageing midfielder Jorginho, with Kimmich having predominantly played as a midfielder for Bayern in recent seasons.

The Germany international joined Bayern from Stuttgart in 2015 and has since made 381 appearances, 36 of which came under Guardiola during the Spaniard's spell in the Bundesliga.

The Manchester City tactician was a big fan of Kimmich, saying in 2015 that "he really has everything he needs to become a great player".

In the first leg of Bayern's UCL quarter-final this week, he featured as an inverted right-back in Thomas Tuchel's side's 2-2 draw with Arsenal at the Emirates.
