Golden Arrows are understood to be looking into making a coaching change, with the club struggling to get positive results at the moment.
After enjoying a promising start to the season under co-coaches Vusumuzi Vilakazi and Mabhuti Khenyeza, the KZN outfit has now dropped out of the Top Eight in the standings… and are actually not too far off from the play-offs spot.
Vilakazi left a few months ago, leaving Khenyeza to lead as sole head coach, but recent results have not gone the way of the former Kaizer Chiefs striker.
While Abafana Bes'thende are not rushing into making any drastic changes, indications are that Steve Komphela will be considered as next coach should the poor run of results persist.
Arrows have lost seven DStv Premiership matches outside of the 3-0 victory they were given by the PSL after Moroka Swallows were unable to honour a fixture against them in December last year. Most recently, they were knocked out of the Nedbank Cup by TS Galaxy, having lost to the same team in the league only a week earlier.
Komphela, who has previously worked as head coach at the side, is available and indications are that the club is looking at bringing him in should the situation not improve. The club, however, would not get rid of Khenyeza, who would stay on as assistant coach, as per Siya sources.
The 56-year-old parted ways with the Dube Birds recently and is understood to be eyeing a return to the dugout soon.
