Pep Addresses Man City Future After Klopp's Call To Leave Liverpool

Pep Guardiola has addressed his future at Manchester City after Jurgen Klopp announced his decision to step down as Liverpool manager.

Speaking in a press conference ahead of the Citizens' Premier League clash against Burnley on Wednesday night, the Spaniard was asked if he will be extending his stay at the club beyond 2025.

With the 53-year-old's deal in England expiring next year and Klopp having announced he will be leaving his role at the end of the season, Guardiola's future in Manchester has become a hot topic in recent days.

While he stopped short of revealing whether or not he will commit to new terms, the former Barcelona coach admitted that renewing his deal after nine years is not comparable with renewing after a couple of seasons.

"We have to see how players' behaviour is, whether we are keeping our standards," he told reporters, according to the Mirror

"Next year will be nine seasons, which is a lot of time. Extending after two years is not the same as extending after nine. We have a lot of time (to decide). But now I feel really good.

"Normally when I decide to extend my contract, the decision is quick. I trust my feelings and instinct, and my family is involved.

"Every time they [City] offer [a new deal], it does not take much time. When I feel it is OK, I feel good, they want me, then OK."
