'€30million Won't Change My Life'

'€30million Won't Change My Life'

Real Madrid star Federico Valverde has revealed he will not move to Saudi Arabia for any price.

A Real Madrid star insists that €30 million (R612 million) won't change his life amid reports linking him with a lucrative transfer to Saudi Arabia.

It has been just over a year since the Saudi Pro League began revolutionising their division, luring world-recognised stars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mane, and Neymar among others.

The Saudi Pro League (SPL) has splashed huge sums of money on this ambitious project, with many marquee signings pocketing far more than what they were earning during their time in Europe.

Things haven't entirely gone according to plan, as various recent reports suggest that a massive exodus could take place. According to Spanish outlet SPORT, many players are considering leaving due to a culmination of various factors, including the climate, culture, low crowds in stadiums, as well as women's rights for their wives.

Nevertheless, one player who certainly won't be joining the league is Real midfielder Federico Valverde. The Uruguay international confirmed in a recent press conference that he has no intention of leaving the Santiago Bernabeu regardless of how much money he is offered, according to Movistar.

Speaking to reporters, Valverde said: "I think there's been a lot of progress with the players who have come here [Saudi Arabia]. For example, Cristiano [Ronaldo], who started all this.

"It shows what they want to do and to have players of that quality is important."

"It is really impossible for me to go to the Saudi League," he added. "No chance. 10, 20 or 30 million will not change my life. I'm at Real Madrid, the best club in the world.

"I love my life in Madrid, the same goes for my family and that's it."

The 25-year-old penned a new deal in November 2023, extending his stay at the club until June 2029. He is now worth a staggering €100 million (R2 billion), according to Transfermarkt.
