Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has reportedly made a massive request to the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT) regarding his involvement in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations.

After being named in Rigobert Song's final squad that will compete at the next iteration of the AFCON, the 27-year-old shot-stopper will be appearing for the Indomitable Lions at a major tournament for the first time since the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The La Masia graduate left the global showpiece in late 2022 under a dark cloud after only playing the opening match of the competition, and subsequently retired from the national team having fallen out with Song and FECAFOOT in Qatar.
Now, having helped the five-time African champions qualify for the continental tournament in the Ivory Coast, the former Ajax Amsterdam and Inter Milan man is set to don the famous green of Cameroon at a major competition once again, but the Nkol Ngok native reportedly wants to join up with his national team later than requested.
According to ESPN, Onana is currently in talks with FECAFOOT executives about join the side's training camp after the Red Devils' third-round FA Cup clash against Wigan Athletic.
That clash at the DW Stadium will take place on 8 January, just one day before Cameroon are set to take on Zambia in a pre-AFCON friendly and exactly a week before Song's charges are set to play their opening group stage against Guinea.
Onana has not enjoyed the best of starts to his United career as he and his team have struggled to find consistent form.

A busy period of fixtures is about ensue for the Mancunians, and it looks like the newly acquired goalkeeper wants to help his new side as much as possible before departing for as long as a month.
