Pyramids manager Jaime Pacheco has pulled back the curtain on why he believes his team was defeated by Mamelodi Sundowns in their latest CAF Champions League encounter.

Following the latest round of matches, there is now an established hierarchy within Group A of the Champions League, with Masandawana now atop of the standing.
A Teboho Mokwena strike was enough to give the South African outfit a marginal 1-0 win in Cairo on Tuesday night as they are now on seven points.
This is Pyramids' debut campaign in the competition, and although Pacheco believes his side did not produce a terrible performance against the DStv Premiership champions, he attributed Sundowns' win to them having a lot of experience competing at the highest level in Africa.
"Pyramids did not play a bad match, but Sundowns benefited from the experiences of its players, especially since there are several distinguished elements among its ranks and there has been harmony between its players for years," the Portuguese tactician said in his post-match press conference, as per Kooora.
"I preferred to keep the duo of Abdallah Said and Mostafa Fathi in agreement with them for the second half to distribute the team's efforts and take advantage of Sundowns' physical decline, but the goal scored by the visitors made my players nervous."

Pacheco has a tough task on his hands following TP Mazembe's win over Nouadhibou as Pyramids now trail the Congolese and South African sides by three points. With two matches remaining in the group stage, however, there is still hope for progression.
