The 35-year-old has found himself in trouble in Paris after he took an unauthorised trip to Saudi Arabia last week to fulfil ambassadorial duties.
PSG's board responded by suspending the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner for two weeks, with the player serving the first of his two-match club ban on Sunday night as Christophe Galtier's side beat Troyes 3-1 away from home in Ligue 1.
However, despite the club's disappointment with his actions, for which he has since publicly apologised, reports suggest his contract offer still stands.
According to the Sunday Times, PSG have not withdrawn their extension proposal for the former Barcelona captain, whose current deal at the club expires in June.
PSG are said to still be open to the Argentina hero continuing in France, although they are aware he is not short of interest from elsewhere.
Saudi giants Al Hilal are reportedly willing to offer him a lucrative contract that would make him the world's highest-paid player in history, while he has also been tipped to rejoin Barcelona as a free agent.

However, PSG believe no other UEFA Champions League-playing club will be able to match the terms they have offered Messi, and therefore feel a renewal is not unrealistic.
