With Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag keen on bolstering his forward line at the end of the season, the Dutch tactician has reportedly decided who his top striker target is.

Marcus Rashford aside, the Red Devils have struggled for a regular supply of goals elsewhere in the team in the 2022/23 campaign.
It is for this reason Ten Hag wants to reinforce his attacking options in the upcoming transfer window and, according to Calcio Mercato, the 53-year-old has identified Argentine Lautaro Martinez as the forward he would like to bring to Old Trafford.
Martinez has been in prolific form this season for Inter Milan, having found the back of the net 21 times and provided eight assists across all competitions for the Nerazzurri, while also helping them to a semi-final berth in the UEFA Champions League.
The same report suggests that Ten Hag sees the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner as the player who most aligns with what he values in a forward. The former Ajax Amsterdam boss is said to appreciate the striker's pressing and his ability to dovetail with other attackers, and thinks he would be a worthy addition to the United dressing room.
The three-time European champions will, however, not let their talisman leave for cheap, having placed an €80 million (R1.6 billion) price tag on the Argentina international. Relative to other forwards on the market such as Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen, Inter believe that is a fair asking price for Martinez.

The former Racing Club man will be looking to finish the season strong in Italy and secure Champions League football for next season for the Serie A giants, while potentially adding a European Cup winner's medal to his collection before a possible departure from the San Siro.
