Chelsea have reportedly entered the "final stages" of negotiations with the manager they are hoping to appoint as their next permanent boss.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, ex-Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is now considered the clear favourite to succeed Graham Potter long-term at Stamford Bridge.

Frank Lampard, who served as Chelsea's head coach between 2019 and 2021, will see his interim role end upon the conclusion of the current campaign.
Romano claims Pochettino is "closer than ever" to accepting an offer from the London giants as negotiations enter into the final stages between the parties.
The Argentine is said to be preparing his coaching staff to start their new journey in England in June ahead of the 2023/24 season.

Pochettino has been out of work since leaving Paris Saint-Germain in July 2022.
