Conte Breaks Silence After Spurs Sacking

Italian manager Antonio Conte has broken his silence by releasing a statement after he left Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday following his explosive rant.

The former Inter Milan boss' future with the Lilywhites appeared uncertain heading into the international break after he strongly criticised the club in a post-match press conference following Spurs' 3-3 draw with Southampton in the Premier League.

Unsurprisingly, the club decided to part ways with the 53-year-old "by mutual agreement" this past weekend, and announced that assistant manager Cristian Stellini will oversee first-team matters until the end of the season.

Chairman Daniel Levy, in Spurs' statement on the club's website, said: "We have 10 Premier League games remaining and we have a fight on our hands for a Champions League place. We all need to pull together. Everyone has to step up to ensure the highest possible finish for our Club and amazing, loyal supporters."

Late on Monday, Conte finally shared his own thoughts after his exit from the club.

"Football is passion," he wrote in a statement on Instagram, according to Goal

"I would like to deeply thank everyone at Spurs who appreciated and shared my passion and my intense way of living football as a coach.

"A special thought to the Fans who always showed me support and appreciation, it's been unforgettable to hear them singing my name. Our journey together has ended, I wish you all the best for the future."

Conte spent 16 months in charge of the London-based club, but failed to end Spurs' 15-year trophy drought.
