Mourinho: Osimhen Is As Good As Drogba But...

Victor Osimhen and Jose Mourinho

Roma boss Jose Mourinho has claimed that Nigeria superstar Victor Osimhen is just as good as Didier Drogba was, but also insisted that the Napoli marksman needs to cut a specific element out of his game.

9 Stars Who Could Leave Man Utd

This past weekend, Osimhen extended his lead at the top of the Serie A goalscoring chart as his strike helped Gli Azzurri secure a 2-1 victory over Roma.

The 24-year-old has been in sublime form for Napoli in the Italian top flight this season, finding the back of the net 14 times in 16 league appearances as he looks to help his club win the Scudetto for the first time in 33 years.

The Lagos native has attracted a lot of attention with his performances, with the likes of Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Chelsea all reportedly interested in his services.

Following his exploits against the Giallorossi, Mourinho heaped praise on the west African, claiming he is as good as another legendary marksman he previously had under his tutelage in the form of Drogba.

Despite lauding Osimhen, though, Mourinho also warned the 24-year-old that he needs to stop diving if he is ever to make the leap to the Premier League.

"He is of the same level as Drogba, but Didier didn't dive," Mourinho said to members of the media after Roma's loss, as per the Metro.

"If Victor changes, then OK. I'd buy him if I was at a club with a lot of money.

"However, if he does go to England one day, he needs to change, because in Italy they put up with this sort of behaviour, whereas in the Premier League, they'd come down hard on him.

"I told him that he scored a wonderful goal and needs to stop diving so much.

"His goal was fantastic, he did the same thing when we met earlier this season, so he's a fantastic player. But he mustn't dive."
