Chiefs Star Confident Of Shock Victory Over Sundowns

Chiefs Star Confident Of Shock Victory Over Sundowns

While the odds are heavily stacked against them owing to recent form, Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Nkosingiphile Ngcobo is confident that his side can pull off a shock win when they take on a rampant Mamelodi Sundowns.

Chiefs are fresh off back-to-back defeats to Sekhukhune United and AmaZulu respectively, and will face Sundowns on Saturday at the FNB Stadium - a side that is on an 11-match winning streak.

The last time the two sides met, Downs ran out 4-0 winners over Amakhosi.

However, despite recent results not going their way, Chiefs' pint-sized midfielder is confident that the Soweto giants can cause an upset on their home turf.

"As soccer players, we know it's like that. Sometimes you lose games. But now it's up to us to stay focused. We know what we want to do, and we try to concentrate on the next match and not worry about what has already happened. We can learn from the mistakes and try to rectify them," Ngcobo said via the club's official website.

"We need to focus on ourselves. We know where we can hurt Sundowns and we just have to make sure that we play our A-game because we need maximum points.

"They have been winning more games than us, but I believe you create your own luck through hard work. That is the key to getting to where we want to be and I am confident we will get there," he added.
