Man Utd Star: What De Gea Told Me After Bizarre Error

Manchester United star Diogo Dalot has revealed what David de Gea told him after his bizarre goalkeeping error against Everton on Friday night.

The Spanish goalkeeper was at fault for the Toffees' equaliser when a seemingly routine cross slipped through his legs, which allowed Conor Coady to poke home from close range.

The error did not prove costly as the Red Devils went on to win 3-1 at Old Trafford to secure their spot in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

"I spoke to David at halftime and he was not expecting the ball to go through his legs, even I was not expecting the ball to go through his legs, so I will take responsibility, I could have reacted a little bit quicker," Dalot told beIN Sports.

"Credit also to the Everton player [Coady] who reacted quicker than me. I think it's just things for us to learn, luckily we won with merit and we fight to score one more goal and I think we deserved to go through."

Former United captain Roy Keane was not too impressed with De Gea's error on the night though.

"Listen, it's a shocking mistake from an international goalkeeper," Keane said on ITV, as per Daily Mail.

"De Gea there, it's like Carry On football. It looks as if he's had a few drinks. Shocking mistake.

"It's almost as if the keepers been sent off and an outfield players gone in goal, he doesn't know what to do! It's a horrendous mistake."
