Having failed to live up to the expectations of his club-record transfer fee, reports claim that Real Madrid have finally made a decision on Eden Hazard's future.
Ten Hag Explains Decision To Make Ronaldo Captain
When Hazard signed for Los Blancos in 2019, the Belgium international was coming off the back of his best Premier League season, and arrived in the Spanish capital as the man destined to replace Cristiano Ronaldo.
Unfortunately for the attacker, injuries and inconsistent form have ravished his Real career and now it seems that the Spanish champions want the 31-year-old to leave the club as soon as possible.
According to Marca, the 14-time European champions have told the winger to find a new side by the time the January window is open. Hazard has not started in any of Real's opening 12 LaLiga matches and looks to not be a part of Carlo Ancelotti's plans.
Real are hoping that the Belgium captain has a good 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament in order to raise his valuation as a player. It is unlikely that Los Merengues recoup the €115 million (R2 billion) they spent on him three years ago. However, it seems that is a none factor at the moment for the club, with their priority is to get Hazard out of the door.
It is likely that the former Lille man return to the Premier League given his astronomical wages, with Chelsea rumoured to be interested in re-signing him.
Arteta Makes Arsenal History, Breaks Wenger Record
The winger showed a glimpse of his talent against Celtic in the UEFA Champions League, and the reigning European champions will be hoping the La Louviere native will be able to replicate that form in Qatar.
