Man Utd's Antony Hits Back At Showboating Criticism

Manchester United attacker Antony has hit back at those criticising his 'showboating' in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday evening.

Antony came in for some criticism by United legend Paul Scholes for a piece of his skill he pulled off in the first half, which ended up with the Brazilian giving the ball away.

Fellow Brazilian Richarlison was also criticised earlier in the season for juggling the ball, but Ten Hag insists he does not have a problem with Antony's skill.

"We're known for our art and I won't stop doing what got me to where I am!," Antony said on Instagram.

United manager Erik ten Hag also gave his thoughts on the 'showboating' on Thursday evening.

"I do not have a problem with that, as long as it is functional," Ten Hag said, as per the Sun.

"So from him, like everyone else, I demand more. More runs behind, being more often in the (opposition's) box.

"More pressing. More dribbles against opponents. More playing in the pockets. We demand more dominance.

"Then there is a trick like that which is nice, but as long as it is functional and you do not lose the ball. Then it is OK.

"But it is a trick and because of the trick, I will correct him."
