Goals and Bafana Bafana has gone together like water and oil in recent years. It’s been our weakness. I mean it’s literally brought us to our knees. The national team has been described as “world class” in the midfield, only to be desperately let down in the final third.
Despite talented players such as Katlego Mphela and Bernard Parker being rocks at the front, we just can’t seem to effortlessly slot in goals, it’s cost us much and it’s no doubt something coach Ephraim ‘Shakes’ Mashaba is weary of.
And while he was bombarded with criticism for his team selection, what all or many failed to take into account, is just how well Shakes knows South African football and our players.
We’ve all seen the talent in Sibusiso Vilakazi, yet Shakes managed to bring out the best in him at the highest stage of the game. In Sudan nogal!
So here’s our question we put to you today, is Vilakazi Bafana Bafana’s new goalscoring hope?
Option 1: Yes!
Option 2: No
Option 3: Too early to tell, he needs more time!
