Ronaldo is not only one of the greatest players of his generation, but of all time. Along with the likes of Pele, Diego Maradona and Lionel Messi, the Portuguese forward has revolutionised the sport with his incredible work on the field.
Sporting Lisbon's president recently revealed the club might rebrand its Estadio Jose Alvalade stadium to name it after the superstar, who came through their ranks before going on to represent Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus.
In Holland, on the 25th of April 2017, Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam announced that it would changing the name of its stadium from the Amsterdam Arena to the Johan Cruyff Arena. The ground holds 54 000 people, and is one of the most popular stadiums in Europe.

Cruyff came through the ranks at Ajax, before eventually playing a starring role in the first-team. After a brilliant career, in which he also represented clubs such as FC Barcelona and Feyenoord, Cruyff returned to the club as a coach in 1985.
Real's stadium, the Santiago Bernabeu, was named after Santiago Bernabeu Yeste, who many see as the man who put Los Blancos on the map. Not only did he represent the great club as a player, but also went on to work in roles as a director of football, assistant manager, manager and president.
