Over the last month of the Betway Premiership, several players raised their hands to be counted among the best, with the League expected to announce top performers who will be crowned Player of the Month and Coach of the Month for February/March.
Mamelodi Sundowns will fancy their chances of winning both Coach and Player of the Month after scoring 23 goals and conceded only six in nine games. They only lost one game in that process, a 1-0 loss against TS Galaxy. The Chloorkop-based side 'returned the favour' 11 days later, when they hammered The Rockets 4-1 in the return leg. Coach Miguel Cardoso and his charges were one of the busiest teams this past month.
AmaZulu FC are among the teams that enjoyed a good run of form in the past month or so, as they have played six matches, recording four wins, one draw and a loss. Coach Arthur Zwane's charges seem to have turned the corner as they are sitting fifth on the log with 29 points from 20 games. They've scored seven goals in their last three matches and that will make everyone associated with the club very happy with the progress made so far.
Orlando Pirates played five games, winning three and losing twice against Mamelodi Sundowns and Marumo Gallants, where they conceded six goals and only scored once. Coach Jose Riveiro was suspended against Marumo, after accumulating four yellow cards, and coach Mandla Ncikazi had to lead the team in the head coach's absence.
Coach Steve Barker's Stellenbosch FC have played six matches, with three draws, two wins and a loss. In the process, they've found the back of the net eight times, conceding seven times.
Players like Lucas Ribeiro Costa, Rowan Human, Makhehleni Makhaula, Sipho Mbule, Devin Titus and Arthur Sales are just some of the players who have raised their hand for recognition with their performances for their respective clubs.
