This year's PSL awards ceremony for the 2018/19 season will be staged in Durban, on May 19, the day after the Nedbank Cup final which will be played at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
Speaking to the Siya crew, former Pirates defender Lizo Mjempu singled out Lorch and Zwane as his two candidates for the Footballer of the Season award.
"The Player of the Season will come between Thembinkosi Lorch and Themba Zwane. That's my prediction. The two guys have been impressive for their teams this season. If I were to choose one to win it between the two of them, I would go for Mshishi (Zwane). I think he's got a slight edge over Lorch… for his consistency," said Mjempu.

"I played with Mshishi at PJ Stars (M Tigers) and I am very impressed with how he has grown and improved his game over the years. Mshishi has been impressive both for Sundowns and Bafana Bafana. But Lorch has also been impressive and no one can take that away from him," added the ex-Bucs and Ajax Cape Town left-back.
