SuperSport United have broken their silence on rumours that the club is up for sale, the Siya crew has been informed.
Rumours have been rife over the last two days that Matsatsantsa are set to be sold, with both Bidvest Wits and Zimbabwean billionaire Strive Masiyiwa alleged to be interested in purchasing the club.
However, on Tuesday, with a brief statement sent to players and staff which was seen by the crew, the club once again dismissed rumours that they are for sale and have threatened legal action to people perpetuating these unfound rumours.
"SuperSport United has been made aware of the old repeated rumours and speculation regarding the potential sale of the club. Please note that these rumours are completely untrue. As stated when these false rumours started in 2019, the club is not for sale. The club is seeking legal advise on the publications or persons involved in continually issuing these false statements," the statement read.
As reported by the Siya crew, the club is finalizing the appointment of their head coach, which is understood to be Gavin Hunt, who is set to seal a sensational return to the club where he rose to prominence.
Having been quiet in the transfer window, SuperSport are also expected to announce the club's new acquisitions upon the finalization of their new coach.
