Orlando Pirates football club have moved the funeral service of Senzo Meyiwa to the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
The late Orlando Pirates captain's funeral service was scheduled to be held at the King Zwelithini Stadium in his home town of Umlazi, however the club has moved the venue to the much larger 85 000 capacity Moses Mabhida as thousands of South Africans are expected to attend the service and pay their final respects to the fallen icon.
Earlier on Wednesday, Mpumalanga Black Aces announced on their official twitter account that their league fixture against AmaZulu had been moved from the Moses Mabhida Stadium to the Princess Magogo Stadium in order to accommodate Meyiwa's funeral service.
The Siya crew got confirmation from a Pirates official who confirmed the venue change.
Meanwhile, a memorial service in honour of Senzo Meyiwa, 800 m gold medallist Mbulaeni Mulaudzi, and female boxer Phindile Mwelase will be held today at the Standard Bank Arena in downtown Johannesburg near Ellis Park Stadium.
