The Premier Soccer League has confirmed this season's Absa Premiership Q-Innovation winners for the first quarter.

As confirmed by the league, Baroka are the winners of Q1 for the team's impressive start to the 2017/18 season under Kgoloko Thobejane.
"Baroka FC, the side that surprised many by summiting to the top of the Absa Premiership log standings in the early stages of the 2017/18 season, have been rewarded for their efforts.
"Baroka FC have been declared as the Absa Premiership Quarter One winners. They won Q1 with 16 points – beating Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United who finished second and third. Mamelodi Sundowns finished on 15 points tied with SuperSport United but the former enjoyed a superior goal difference.

"In the first quarter, Baroka FC won four matches and drew the same number of games without tasting defeat," confirmed the PSL in a statement.
Bakgaga have since slipped to sixth on the PSL log. The team's next game will be against SuperSport United at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday.

The only other teams to have won a quarter of the Q-Innovation since its inception in 2012 are Kaizer Chiefs, Platinum Stars, Mamelodi Sundowns, Polokwane City, Bidvest Wits and Cape Town City.
