The Premier Soccer League has responded to questions about whether it still values the supporters.
South African football supporters are depending on match coverage to watch their teams due to Covid-19 regulations.
With government easing the strict regulations for sporting events, codes such as cricket and rugby seem to have a better relationship with their fans.
Many supporters feel that they are no longer seen as part of the league, and the head of Risk Management for the PSL, Mlungisi Ngcami, says that the league will never neglect supporters.
"The supporters are the owners of the game, we will never neglect them, we are just forced by situations. I can assure you we will never ever take their love for the game for granted. We are nothing without fans," Ngcami told the Siya crew.
The League will be guided by government on whether to allow fans to return to live matches in the DStv Premiership and GladAfrica Championship games, and has pleadsed with supporters to vaccinate.
"We don't know whether fans will be allowed after this final. We will wait for government (instruction), then we will know. We urge our people to vaccinate, so that the regulations can be changed."
