National First Division Wrap

There were further shocks in the National First Division with table toppers, Highlands Park and second-placed Real Kings dropping points to lowly Richards Bay and Uthongathi FC respectively, while Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC (TTM) overpowered University of Pretoria 2-1 to grab fourth spot. In addition, Jomo Cosmos who're third, could only manage a 1-1 with Witbank Spurs but Black Leopards downed Royal Eagles 1-0 at home as Mwape Musonda hit his 9th successful finish of the season. TTM, for whom Aluwani Nedzamba and Mhlabane Mahlatsi netted, are just two points behind Real Kings following the Durban team's 1-1 draw against Uthongathi FC. Kings' Mondli Miya and Uthongathi's Siyabonga Vilane were on target during this exciting KZN derby. Siyavutha opened the scoring very early via Quentin Debouto before a late equalizer from Ezenkosi's Silas Maziya earned his side a valuable point. The Lions of the North and Bay both failed to score at the Makhulong, where a last-minute penalty was saved by Highland's keeper, Tapuwa Kapini. There were also no goals in the Mother City derby between Cape Town All Stars and Ubuntu Cape Town, while the same scenario played out when Super Eagles hosted Stellenbosch. Thanks to brace from Mpo Erasmus, his 10th goal, Mthatha Bucks leapfrogged Ubuntu but still face the danger of the drop.
