Former Free State Stars midfielder, Mxolisi Gumede, has joined Sivutsa Stars in the NFD. Gumede played for Black Leopards in the PSL last season, having signed from Ea Lla Koto.
The Springs-born player made a move to Sivutsa in an attempt to resurrect his football career. He struggled for game time at Leopards with just two league starts next to his name the entire 2012/13 season.
The player's mentor, Innocent Mayoyo, confirmed the news to the Siya crew that Gumede has joined the Mpumalanga-based outfit.
"My boy Mxolisi Gumede has joined Sivutsa Stars. He joined them for the rest of the year with an option for another season," said Mayoyo.
Gumede has been signed to help Stars improve the team's position on the NFD standings. Stars have won just five in 22 games, and sit 11th on the table.
