Mamelodi Sundowns youngsters from Clapham High School won the 2014 edition of the Copa Coca-Cola under-15 Football Tournament, following a convincing 4-0 win over Robinvale Secondary School on the weekend.
The Pretoria-based school is an academy that belongs to Sundowns. The youngsters are coached by former Sundowns player Isaac Shai.
"Mamelodi Sundowns Development Academy team Clapham High School brushed aside Robinvale Secondary School 4 – 0 to win the 2014 COPA Coca-Cola under 15 Football Tournament at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi.
"Third place went to Silindokuhle High School from Pinetown, with a 3-2 victory over Louis Botha High School from the Free State.
"Not only did Clapham win the championship, they received individual awards as well with Isaac Shai winning the Coach of the Tournament award, and the Player of the Tournament award going to Notha Ngcobo and Khulekani Khubeka getting the goalkeeper of the Tournament award.
"Clapham beat Sikhulule 3-0, Silindokuhle 1-0, Sikhulule 4-0 for the second time, Benny Sports Academy 1-0 and Louis Botha 5-1 to set up a final against Robinvale.
"Notha Ngcobo's double, and a goal each from Malebogo Modise and Buhle Mfodololo gave Clapham the title. Last season, Clapham won the coveted Kay Motsepe mantle," sundownsfc.co.za revealed.
