Local Agent Sets Record Straight On Luc Eymael Comments

A prominent local agent has issued a sincere apology about the comments that he feels portrays him as someone who defends racism in football.

Following the embarrassing dismissal of former Black Leopards coach Luc Eymael by Tanzanian club Young Africans for the racist comments, where he compared the locals to 'dogs and monkeys', local agent Ratshibvumo Mulovhedzi was quoted saying that the ex-Free State Stars and Polokwane City coach is not a 'racist'.

Mulovhedzi has now explained how the comments came about.

"I would like to set the record straight about the comments I made about Luc Eymael. When I received a WhatsApp message from a journalist asking me about the interaction I once had with Luc Eymael some time ago about my players, I was not yet aware of the comments he made in Tanzania. I replied honestly based on my past experience in dealing with Eymael," said Mulovhedzi.

"At the time, I was genuinely unaware that Eymael had been fired by his club in Tanzania for racial comments. I would like to apologise to the people of Tanzania and everyone in the football fraternity for appearing as someone who is supporting a person labelled as a racist. As Rush Hour Sports Management we are totally against racism and we cannot condone any acts of it. I apologise to the people of South Africa, SAFA and the PSL for making such comments. I also apologise to my players and my family. My family has been affected a lot by this and are being attacked on social media. It was not my intention to defend Eymael. I was asked a question about him and had not been told of his offence," said the intermediary.
