However, the player will have to concentrate elsewhere as the Amakhosi are believed to have no interest in him at this stage. The Siya crew has also gathered that Bloemfontein Celtic is one club that is seemingly showing interest in the player's services at the moment.
As reported in issue 996 of the Soccer Laduma newspaper, the 31-year-old player, who is currently a free agent after being given his clearance at Sundowns, has been recommended to Celtic with the club showing interest in him.
"Look, there was interest from Chiefs before the player signed with Sundowns, however, it seems the club is no longer interested. He was recommended to the club recently, but they showed no interest this time around," said the source.
Following their slow start to the 2016/17 season due to a lack of results, Celtic are expected to look for players to reinforce their squad as the season progresses, with Mbatha being one of the players likely to be considered for a move to Mangaung.

"The player has been recommended to Celtic and the club showed interest in him. He is currently in Johannesburg and is working hard in training," explained the source.
