The midfielder has put in some fine performances for Dikwena under Cavin Johnson this season, as the Phokeng outfit went on to finish the 2015/16 Absa Premiership in third place on the log.
The experienced player made 19 starts in total for Stars, where he played alongside veteran central midfielder Solomon Mathe.
"I left the team. I signed a two-year contract when I joined the club. It's something that I have always done for myself, I didn't want to stay longer, beyond the two years I've been there. It's a good club and everything was good for me there. But I decided that I should go because I enjoy travelling," said Madubanya.
Asked if he would consider rejoining one of the teams he has been at previously in his career, the Alexandra-born player spoke about interest in going back to Matsatsantsa.
"I don't know hey. I'd like to go to SuperSport. I'd like (to work with) that coach from Chiefs (Stuart Baxter). I wouldn't mind working under him," added Madubanya.
Quizzed about the competition he might have to face from Reneilwe Letsholonyane and Dean Furman for a central midfield position in Baxter's team, the 32-year-old told the Siya crew that he would be prepared to compete.
"That would be the best competition. With competition like that you go to training wanting to show that you want to play," concluded Madubanya.
