Yesterday, the trial resumed on a dramatic note as defence advocate Malesela Teffo asked that production company, Netflix be excused from the courtroom.
Teffo represents four of the five men accused of killing Meyiwa who was gunned down in Vosloorus in October 2014 in what was reported to have been a botched robbery at the time.
However, the advocate failed in his attempts as the judge presiding over the trial, Judge Tshifhiwa Maumela, said he cannot prevent any media house that had applied to participate in the trial from doing so.
All five of the accused, Muzikawukhulelwa Sibiya, Bongani Sandiso Ntanzi, Mthobisi Prince Mncube, Mthokoziseni Maphisa and Sifisokuhle Nkani Ntuli pleaded not guilty.
The accused have been charged with premeditated murder, attempted murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances, possession of firearms without a licence and possession of ammunition.
Mosia had previously indicated to the court that the scene might have been contaminated before his arrival.
