Former Kaizer Chiefs Midfielder Lucky Mzizi Sends Inspirational Message

Lucky Mzizi

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder, Lucky Mzizi, has sent an inspirational new year's message to warn people about the deadly Coronavirus.

Mzizi, who also played for AmaZulu, Bloemfontein Celtic and Free State Stars among other clubs in the professional ranks, recently retired from professional football and has been keeping active by playing for the Masters' team in recent times.

The 36-year-old says the Covid-19 hit him hard after he recently lost a former teammate from the Mndeni Masters team.

"After the president's latest address about the surge in the numbers of the Coronavirus, I would like to say to people that we all need to be careful because this thing is a killer disease especially now that it's the festive season. They need to wear masks and sanitise their hands and social distance. Let us all be safe, and all start the new year on a good and positive note," said Mzizi.

"This thing is very dangerous, and I am speaking from experience as I have just lost a former teammate from our Masters' team. He died because of this disease. It is very sad. As the members of Mndeni Masters team we are still not alright. We are still trying to heal from the shock of losing one of our own. We need to be very careful about the Coronavirus and follow all the protocols as set out by the authorities in trying to curb the spread of the disease," he said.
