Mamelodi Sundowns winger, Ejike Uzoenyi, has finally obtained his South African work permit and is expected to arrive at Chloorkop to hear about the club's plans for him for the 2014/15 season.
The Nigerian, who was signed by Sundowns after his impressive performances for the Super Eagles during the African Nations Championships in South Africa earlier this year, had his arrival at the PSL champions delayed due to paperwork-related issues.
However, our SL10.ng has been reliably informed that the player has been issued his work permit by the South African Embassy in the Nigerian capital today.
"We just received Ejike's permit. We just came out of the South African High Commission in Abuja. He will now be heading to South Africa to join his teammates. We are excited now because Ejike missed the whole pre-season of the club due to the delay of getting the work permit. He will join his new club tomorrow," Mohammed Lawal, who advises Uzoenyi, told SL10.ng.
The Brazilians are preparing for their first league game of the 2014/15 season at home against Maritzburg United tonight.
Ejike is expected to arrive at Chloorkop in the next 24 hours. It remains to be seen if Ejike will be one of the lucky foreign players to be registered for this season.
