Result: Royal AM 1-0 Stellenbosch

Date: 28 November 2021

Venue: Chatsworth Stadium

Stellies coach Steve Barker recalled striker Judas Moseamedi to partner Ashley du Preeze in the attack as Robertson dropped to the bench after the 3-0 defeat to Orlando Pirates.

The hosts, meanwhile, recalled veteran forward Ndumiso Mabena who has only registered one goal in six appearances prior to the clash against Stellies.

It was an evenly contested affair in the early stages of the encounter, although the visitors did try their luck with a few efforts from distance in the opening 20 minutes.

Junior Mendieta was proving to be a menace for Royal AM, as he forced Patrick Nyame into a fine save at the midway point of the first stanza.

Royal AM, meanwhile struggled to get any efforts on Sage Stephens' goal in the opening 45 minutes, with Mabena and Tshidiso Monamodi firing wide in the final 10 minutes of the stanza.

However, the hosts went on to break the deadlock just before the hour mark thanks to a finish from Tebogo Potsane, who opened his account for the campaign.

John Maduka opted to re-shuffle the pack not too long after as Mabena made way for Levy Mashiane as the hosts looked to see out the final 30 minutes.

Stellies threw everything forward after introducing the likes of Stanley Dimgba, Waseem Isaacs and Antonio Van Wyk for the latter parts of the second half.
