Former Bloemfontein Celtic midfielder, Itumeleng Duiker, looks set to play his football in the National First Division next season.

The Winburg-born player spent most of last season on the sidelines, after having been put on the transfer list by Ernst Middendorp. He failed to attract interest as no offers came in for his services and only recently became a free agent.

The player's agent, Mickey Paiva, has previously told the Siya crew that he had contacted almost every team in the PSL about the possibility of acquiring Duiker's services, but that the general response had not been positive.

News making its way to the crew is that the 29-year-old's club-search has taken him to Cape Town.

"Yes, he is in Cape Town and is hoping to finalise a deal with one of the NFD clubs," said a source.

The likes of Vasco da Gama and Milano United have been busy in the current transfer market, but it remains to be seen where the player will eventually end up. The source went on to reveal that a deal could be concluded before the end of the week, allowing Duiker a return to competitive action after a frustrating period on the sidelines.
