Celtic Keen To Return To Seisa Ramabodu

Bloemfontein Celtic are hoping to return to their happy hunting ground of Seisa Ramabodu Stadium this coming season.

The club has been using Kaizer Sebothelo Stadium and Free State Stadium for their home games this past season, as Seisa Ramabodu has been undergoing renovations. The PSL deemed the stadium unsafe, which led to its upgrade. Celtic were expected to return to the ground this month, but could not do so since work started late on the construction of concrete stands.

Attendance figures have somewhat dwindled for Phunya Sele Sele partly due to the fact that fans have to travel a long distance to get there, which is why they have been hoping that the club returns to Seisa Ramabodu sooner than later. According to sources at the club, the stadium will be ready for use by January next year, which will be mid-way through the 2014/15 Absa Premiership season.

However, when contacted for an update on the stadium upgrade, Celtic CEO Khumbulani Konco could only say, "No, you must contact the Municipality on that issue."

Meanwhile, Qondile Khedama, communications officer at the Mangaung Metro, could not confirm or deny the speculation, only telling the Siya that he will have further details next week.
