Mamelodi Sundowns are expected to announce Cell C as the club's new sponsor in the not so distant future.
The Brazilians have been linked with the mobile phone company for some time, with various media reporting about the proposed partnership.
According to Siya crew sources close to Sundowns and Cell C, the talks are ongoing between the two parties with a decision expected to be reached in due course.
Sundowns currently have Ubuntu-Botho SE as the names that appear as sponsors on their shirts. Ubuntu-Botho SE is a family business of the club's president, Patrice Motsepe.
Although it is not yet clear if the issue of sponsorship will be on the agenda when Motsepe will be addressing the media later today, sources have indicated that Cell C is expected to sponsor Sundowns, as the two parties have been working on the finer details of the proposed deal in recent weeks.
Sundowns are the defending champions of the Absa Premiership.
The Chloorkop outfit previously had a partnership with MTN when the team was sponsored by a mobile phone company the last time.
In the meantime, Sundowns have called a press conference that is expected to be chaired by Motsepe at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg from 14h00.
