Cape All Stars were found guilty of unsporting behaviour after their loss to Swallows FC earlier this month, Premier Soccer League Prosecutor Zola Majavu has confirmed.
All Stars, their goalkeeping coach and five players appeared before the DC on Wednesday to answer to the charges of unsporting behaviour.
Majavu revealed that the players accused the match officials of bribery after their loss to Swallows in a promotion/relegation play-off match.
Despite all the accused pleading not guilty, the DC returned a guilty verdict on all counts after going through all of the evidence.
"The club were fined a monitory fine of R100 000, 50 per cent of which is suspended for a period of 24 on condition that during the period of suspension, they are not found guilty of the same offence," Majavu said via the PSL media depe
"The goalkeeper coach and the four players were issued a two-match suspension, with one suspended for a period of 24 months on condition that during the period of suspension, they are not found guilty of the same offence."
