Mpumalanga Black Aces youngster, Michael `Mikey` Schultz, will be spending a week training with European giants, Liverpool.
The club confirmed that the 11-year-old was recommended to the English side by Liverpool legend and former England international, John Barnes. Having watched SuperSport United and Aces' youth in action, Barnes has been impressed by the local talent.
Schultz is part of Aces' youth set-up, playing for the club's U13 side, and will be flying out to England later this month, on June 22.
Barnes told Aces' official website, "I`m really impressed with the standard of football I saw today and both Aces and Supersport are two of the best youth teams in the country and their players are among the elite in South Africa. I've watched kids all over the world playing at the highest level and Michael is right up there."
"He will join Liverpool on 22 June for a one-week training camp and unfortunately I have a commitment in Norway but I will see him towards the end of the week," added Barnes.
In other news within the club's youth structure, Matthew Robinson (U19) has moved to the USA while Rogerio Morais (U19) is now with Portuguese side, Guimaraes.
