Vilakazi, 33, recently confirmed to the Siya crew that he has retired from professional football, although he indicated that he was not ruling out an opportunity to come back as a player if an opportunity arose.
Tso has accepted the opportunity to launch his coaching career in the third tier of South African football. The club's Brand Manager Lerato Majoro said, "We have appointed Tso Vilakazi the head coach of Orange Vaal Professionals. It is the team that is playing in the ABC Motsepe League in Gauteng. The team has played two games under him now. He is doing well. In the first game under him, we played 1-1 against African All Stars. That's the team that will be playing against Polokwane City in this year's Nedbank Cup. In his second game in charge, we drew 1-1 again, against AmaBEE – the club from Tembisa. We have also appointed Pitso Lekone as his assistant."
Lekone played for Moroka Swallows among other clubs, during his heyday as a professional footballer. Another former Pirates great, Steve Lekoelea, is playing under Vilakazi at the club.

"We still have Steve Lekoelea playing. Steve is playing for our team under Tso Vilakazi. Steve is doing well with us. When he joined us he looked heavy but the technical team worked with him and he is looking better now. He can play in a match for 90 minutes now," said Majoro.
Last year, Vilakazi was helping out as a coach at Education Through Soccer Academy (ETSA).
