Ajax's Victorious U19 Side Return Home

Ajax Cape Town's triumphant U19 side will be arriving back in South Africa today, following their success at the Aegon Copa Amsterdam championship.

The youngsters' home-bound flight is scheduled to arrive at the Cape Town International Airport on Wednesday, at 21:45, bringing the title of 2013 Copa Amsterdam champions to Ikamva. 

 

Ajax's U19 team overcame stiff competition to clinch the prestigious annual tournament hosted in Amsterdam, where some of the world's most talented youngsters were showcased. 

 

The likes of AFC Ajax, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Chelsea Ghana, Men United, Cruzeiro EC, Fluminense, Tottenham Hotspur participated in this year's edition of the tournament.

 

Following their 1-0 semi-final win over Fluminense, Ajax defeated Mönchengladbach 5-4 on penalties in the final, after the game ended all square at 2-2.

 

Having clinched the Metropolitan U19 Premier Cup earlier in the year, it is the U19's second major trophy of 2013.
