Absa Premiership Post Match: Kaizer Chiefs v Platinum Stars, Cavin Johnson, 14 September 2016

Platinum Stars coach Cavin Johnson admits his side got lucky when they played to a 1-1 draw against Kaizer Chiefs in an Absa Premiership match on Wednesday night.

Robert N'gambi scored Stars' only goal in controversial circumstances, as his effort did not appear to cross the goalline, but the officials awarded the goal anyway.

On the night Dikwena found the back of the net a second time courtesy of Henrcio Botes, but that goal did not stand as he was adjudged to have been in an off-side position.

Speaking after the match Johnson says that sometimes you need luck to go your way.

"It was a game of two halves. I think the first-half we scored two goals, I believe the one is not a goal but I believe the other one is a goal," said Johnson.

"Sometimes this game is about luck and that was the luck we got, but I thought we played better in the first-half.

"At moments we didn't hold the ball. In the second-half I thought we defended a lot.

"But I think when we won the ball we could have come out of the situation a lot better.

"We didn't use the right technique to come out of the situations because they were pressing us and we were far too high up to not concede a goal."

Johnson also confessed that he was not happy with the way his side conceded their goal after a goalmouth scramble resulted in Pule Ekstein finding the back of the net for Chiefs.

"When you look at the goal they scored, there are four or five of my players on the floor in the box," added Johnson.

"The goal still goes in the net and you wonder who was watching the ball and were they tackling each other.

"We came here to play football, we played football in the first-half, we defended in the second-half. We knew they would come out at us.

"We go home with a point. We almost went home with three points but that is football."
