A damning post doing the rounds on social media, suggests that there might be sour grapes between legendary midfielder, Benedict 'Tso' Vilakazi and his former side, Mamelodi Sundowns.
The post alleges that Vilakazi feels that Orlando Pirates should have won the league and that Sundowns should have been docked points for the Wayne Arendse debacle.
Downs eventually went on to clinch the title on the last day, ahead of the Sea Robbers.
Now the legendary 36-year-old former Pirates midfielder has spoken out in an attempt to clear his name.
"Firstly, I haven't done a single interview so I have no idea where they get this from; I just want people to know that I have never said any of these words. How can I comment on a case that I know nothing about?
"Secondly, congratulations to Mamelodi Sundowns, they are the deserved winners of the league. Pirates did really well this season, but like coach Micho (Sredojevic) said they had too many draws, so who am I to comment if their very own coach says that?"
The midfielder also commented on the standard of the PSL this season.
"Both teams have done well. It was a very competitive league, hence it went right until the last day of the campaign. There were four really good teams in the running. Bidvest Wits and Cape Town City included, so you can see the league is getting tougher." Vilakazi said.
Vilakazi, who retired in 2015, represented both Sundowns and Pirates with aplomb, making him one of the household names in Mzansi.
Do you think Orlando Pirates can win the Absa Premiership next season?
