Chiefs’ Mthembu Out Of The Soweto Derby
Kaizer Chiefs head coach, Stuart Baxter, says that George Maluleka’s groin injury isn’t a serious one, but that Siphelele Mthembu is likely to miss the Soweto Derby.
Both Maluleka and Mthembu were left at home when the Amakhosi travelled to Botswana for the CAF Champions League this weekend, missing out on the clash with Township Rollers due to their respective injuries.
Speaking about the duo after the 1-0 win over Rollers, Baxter said that Maluleka should be back soon, but that Maluleka could face a spell on the sidelines.
The Glamour Boys’ head coach said, “George is probably doing a session in Johannesburg today and we’ll see how he goes, but I’m expecting him to be back pretty soon. Siphelele however is probably going to be out for a couple of weeks.”
Chiefs’ next game will see them take on Ajax Cape Town on March 4th, before tackling bitter rivals, Orlando Pirates, three days later on March 7th.
