Kaizer Chiefs striker, Siphelele Mthembu, thinks that Chiefs have it tough as all teams up their game against the defending champions.
The Amakhosi are off to a decent start in defending the Absa Premiership crown they won under former coach, Stuart Baxter, last season.
Chiefs remain unbeaten in the league this season, yet still find themselves sitting in fifth position with only 10 points from six games.
Their low tally of points can be put down to the fact that of those six games, they have only won two and drawn the remaining four.
'Shaka Zulu' indicated that teams tend to raise their game when playing title defenders and for this reason refused to be drawn on which teams he thinks are in with a chance to win the PSL this season
“It’s tricky. All teams raise the bar when they are playing against Chiefs. You can watch their games, but you can’t judge them on games they play against us,” Mthembu told Soccer Laduma.
“You know, when they play Chiefs, they raise the bar and it’s a different ballgame altogether.
“They want to perform better than their last game, so almost all of the teams are strong. It just depends on what team or game they are playing.”
Do you agree with Mthembu? What five teams do you expect to challenge for the PSL crown this season?
